The site of the first National Congress of the Communist Party of China is located at No. 76 Xingye Road, Shanghai, which is a typical Shanghai-style building and was built in the fall of 1920. On July 23, 1921, the first National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in the building and the congress adopted the first program and the first resolution of the party, elected the central leadership, and announced the birth of the party. In September, 1952, the site was renovated and turned into a memorial hall open to the public. Apart from offering the introduction of the representatives attending the first National Congress of the CPC, the memorial hall also provides the introduction of the history of the CPC and now it has become a patriotic education base to understand the history of the party and remember revolutionary martyrs.
