The line graph presents the share of urban population in China from 1980 to 2019. According to the graph, the share of urban population had kept growing and tripled during the 40 years, starting at 19.39% and finishing at 60.6%. The period from 1995 to 2010 witnessed the accelerate of increase, during which the share of urban population almost doubled.

On one hand, urbanization shows the growth of Chinese economy and living quality. It's obviously a positive trend that more and more people are enjoying the convenience provided by cities. More and more people are enjoying better medicine, education, cultural services and so on while getting more and better job to make money.

On the other hand, admittedly, the graph also revealed the unbalanced development of urban and rural areas. Although there are a lot of improvements in rural areas, it should have been done better. Luckily, our government have noticed the problem and tried to get focus on improving the living quality of rural areas rather than expanding the cities without control.

As a citizen living in city but born in the countryside, I'm happy to see that both rural and urban areas are becoming better. Wishing all of us a brighter future.
